Terms of Use

Last updated: 2 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Alejandro Gonzalez, Amsterdam, the Netherlands ("we"), for your use of Travessa. By creating an account, you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

1. What Travessa is

Travessa is a trip planner. You tell it where you're going and how you like to travel, and an AI assistant drafts an itinerary and changes it when you ask. The assistant is an AI, not a person.

Travessa doesn't book or sell travel. Hotels, transport, tickets and reservations are arranged by you, with whoever provides them, under their terms.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older, and able to enter into a contract where you live. One account is for one person. Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for what happens in your account.

3. AI suggestions are suggestions

Plans are produced by an AI using information from third parties such as Google Maps. They can be wrong or out of date. A place may be closed, have moved or changed its hours. A journey may take longer than shown, or a stop may not suit you.

Check anything that matters before you rely on it: opening hours, prices, travel times, safety, accessibility, visas, entry and health requirements, and local laws. Use your own judgement, especially with children, pets, or anyone with medical or mobility needs. Travessa is not a substitute for official travel advice from your government.

4. Your content

Your trips, notes and what you type remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and display them, and to send them to the service providers named in our Privacy Policy, only to run Travessa for you. This permission ends when you delete the content, apart from the short time copies take to clear from backups.

Don't enter anything you don't have the right to share. Don't enter other people's sensitive details (for example health information or ID numbers): the app doesn't need them.

5. Acceptable use

Don't:

  • break the law, or use Travessa to plan anything unlawful or harmful
  • try to get into other people's accounts or data, or into our systems
  • overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or use automated tools to query it
  • use the AI to produce content that is abusive, deceptive or infringes someone else's rights
  • resell or redistribute the service, or maps, photos or place details drawn from it

If we find content that's illegal or breaks these rules, we may remove it, and we may suspend or close an account that breaks them. We decide by looking at the case ourselves, not by automated moderation. Unless the law or safety prevents it, we'll tell you what we did and why, and you can ask us to reconsider by writing to hello.travessa@gmail.com.

6. Third-party services

Maps, places, photos and travel times come from Google. By using them inside Travessa you also agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we're not responsible for them.

7. Ours

Travessa's name, design and software belong to us. These terms let you use them for your own trips; they don't give you any other rights in them.

8. Price

Travessa is free while it's being tested. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you the price and what it includes before you're charged anything. Nothing will be charged without your clear agreement.

9. Changes and availability

Travessa is new and will change. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we'll tell you at least 30 days in advance. If you don't agree, you can stop using Travessa and delete your account.

10. Ending

You can stop at any time, and delete your trips, or your whole account, in the app under Account. We may end the service for everyone with 30 days' notice. If we do, you'll be able to export your trips first.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law: for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, or for fraud.

Otherwise, as Travessa is provided free of charge, we're not liable for:

  • losses caused by relying on a suggestion you could reasonably have checked (section 3)
  • bookings, costs or problems with any hotel, airline, restaurant or other provider
  • losses that weren't foreseeable when you started using Travessa

If you use Travessa as a consumer, you keep all the rights the consumer law of your country gives you. Nothing in these terms takes them away.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

If something goes wrong, write to hello.travessa@gmail.com first. We'd much rather sort it out directly.

13. Contact
